Description

Our Sentence Fragments and Run-ons lesson plan helps students identify fragments and run-ons as they write essays and other text. They are instructed in methods for writing more effective sentences, avoiding run-ons and fragments. Students are then asked to create sentence fragments and then create a complete sentence from another student’s sentence fragments. Students are also asked to identify sentences as run-ons, fragments, or complete and identify fragments and run-ons in writing in order to demonstrate their understanding.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify a sentence fragment and a run-on sentence, and correct sentence fragments and run-ons to effective and clear sentences.
