Our How to Write a Letter lesson plan teaches students all about how to write different kinds of letters. During this lesson, students are asked to use their creativity and writing skills learned in this lesson to write a friendly letter to a classmate, complete with a heading and questions that the classmate could answer in their responding letter. Students are also asked to read short scenarios and tell whether each letter should be formal or informal and match the information to the correct letter type (inquiry, thank you, introduction, invitation, etc.).
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify the five parts of a friendly letter and write a letter using the five parts.
