Description

Our Concluding Statements for Information lesson plan teaches students how to identify and write effective conclusions. During this lesson, students are asked to practice matching introduction sentences with the correct conclusion sentences, showing that they understand how the two are related. Students are also asked to write concluding sentences for example paragraphs, and then identify whether the concluding sentences are narrative, expository, descriptive, or persuasive.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to align introduction or topic sentences with a conclusion in a paragraph, understand that introductions and conclusion may have more than one sentence, and determine the best way to end a paragraph and will utilize the appropriate conclusion for the type of paragraph they are writing.
