Description

Our Common Prefixes Spelling Patterns lesson plan introduces students to prefixes. Through interactive activities, group work, and individual practice, students learn to identify prefixes and learn how common prefixes can change the meaning of a word. Students are asked to sort their spelling words by prefix, make a “prefix tree” to better visualize the relationship between a prefix and the word it’s attached to, and take a quiz to test their knowledge.

At the end of the lesson, students will correctly identify and use irregular plurals to spell words. Students will synthesize knowledge from the word sort in order to correctly spell transfer (bonus) words.

    Easy to use and Helpful

I've been looking for some activities to use for after school tutoring and enrichment. I'm glad I found this site. Very easy to navigate and I found activities on the exact subjects I were looking for. I like that the activities aren't just worksheets. They are interactive with easy to follow directions. I highly recommend.

    Great Initial Learning or Reinforcement

I currently teach a self-contained classroom of under-privileged students that include English Language Learners, Special Education, and Special Population students who require differentiation. I am most pleased with these lessons as they have a variety of class activities, homework, and assessments. I can tailor the lesson to my needs as there is more than what can be covered in one session. THANK YOU for sharing your expertise.

    Great!

I just downloaded several of your assignments. We are homeschooling due to the COVID-19. So far everything we've used has been great. I'm thankful for these to keep my son going until he can do some virtual learning with his teacher. Thank you for providing these for free during this time of uncertainty.
