Description
Our Conclusions for Opinions lesson plan introduces students to writing effective conclusions for opinions and persuasive texts. They will learn about the four main types of writing and the type of conclusion that each requires, focusing on opinions and persuasive texts. Students are asked to consider when they usually give their opinions and to who; they are also asked to work in pairs and discuss where they differ in opinion on a topic and why. These discussions are then parlayed into a group opinion essay writing assignment, where they will develop their persuasive writing skills.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to provide a concluding statement or section that follows from the argument presented.
