Description
Our Denotations and Connotations lesson plan introduces students to the vocabulary to help them identify denotations and connotations. The lesson then expands upon these concepts and requires the students to deepen their understanding of connotations so they are able to use them correctly and effectively in their writing. Students are asked to use their creativity to draw pictures representing the connotation of a given word. They are also asked to identify whether a word has a negative or positive connotation and choose the best word to insert into a sentence based on its connotation and the tone of the sentence.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to define and correctly use the denotations and connotations of words.
